We reported magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) study of two patients with congenital Brown's syndrome.
A 6-year-old boy presented limitation in elevation during attempted in adduction in the right eye. Axial scan showed the angle between the reflected portion of the superior oblique tendon and the medial wall of the orbit were 60 degree in the right side and 50 degree in the left side. Coronal scan showed irregular trochlea-tendon complex in the right side.
A 10-year-old boy presented limitation in elevation during attempted in adduction in the right eye. Axial scan showed the angle between the reflected portion of the superior oblique tendon and the medial wall of the orbit were 54 degree in the right side and 37 degree in the left side. Coronal scan showed irregular trochlea-tendon complex in the right side.
Under givining attention to the laterality of the angle between the reflected portion of the superior oblique tendon and the medial wall of the orbit and irregurality of the trochlea-tendon complex, MRI may be useful for diagnosing congenital and acquired Brown's syndrome.
