Abstract

A 9-year-old boy presented with altitudinal hemianopsia in his right eye after repeated blunt ocular injury. Opthalmoscopic examination showed mild commotio retinae and small retinal hemorrhage. Visual field examination demonstrated concentric contraction, altitudinal hemianopsia, spiral field and flower pedal-like pattern, No organic lesion was found in computed tomography and fluorescein angiography. Six month later, visual field recovered normal. Finally, we diagnosed this case was psychogenic visual disturbance. To our knowledge, this was a rare reported case as altitudinal hemianopsia and no decrease in visual acuity throughout clinical course. We considered that various visual field disturbance was showed in psychogenic visual disturbance.
