Description

In this paper, the authors report of computed tomographic (CT) findings from patients with mass lesions in the neck, which were confirmed at operation or by angiography.
New approaches to contrast enhancement, i. e. divided intravenous minimum dose bolus injection method and rapid high dose injection method seemed to be useful for visualizing major vessels and vascular lesions.
CT was helpful in confirming the presence or absence of cervical lymphadenopathy.
In evaluating a cystic lesion, tumor extension and especially venous thrombosis in the neck, the CT was shown to be clinically superior.
Therefore, we conclude that computed tomography is a useful method for differentiating mass lesions in the neck.
