Abstract

The solvent scouring machine for worsted and woolen woven fabrics was developed. It uses 1, 1, 1-trichloroethane as the solvent and the hot water as the means of the solvent removal from fabrics. This paper specially explains the following four matters in detail.<BR>(1) The control to a optimun degree of degreasing.<BR>(2) The prevention of the fabric contamination with dye-stuffs in scouring.<BR>(3) The characteristic of the solvent removal with the hotwater.<BR>(4) The calculation and the observation of calorie required to drive this system.<BR>It has been put to the practical use at a finishing manufacturer and has found the follwing main merits.<BR>(1) There are no irregularity on dying based on irregularity of scouring.<BR>(2) In comparision with the conventional process, its required colorie for scouring is only 2850%, and its total cost is 4385%.<BR>(3) Its dyed color becomes brighter.<BR>(4) Its fabric speed is so high that the productivity rises.
