Description

The possibility for a non-native speaker of English to utilize the CD-ROM full-text databases of scientific journals for the purpose of searching for appropriate English expressions in technical writing is discussed. Desirable features of search capabilities for this purpose are proposed in comparison with those of two representative databases, Journal of the American Chemical Society (JACS) and The Journal of Biological Chemistry (JBC). Some illustrative examples found are also presented.
