The present paper aims at founding theoretical propositions for understanding social behavior by interpreting the concept of social network as a whole body of relationships each actor holds with others.<BR>First, significant works on social network are examined, and then the process of formation of a network is analyzed. Structuralization of network occurs for better efficiency of activating relationship resources in a personal network. The process is explained in terms of “relationship association, ” that is, a temporarily formed group for a specific purpose, and “relationship kernel”, that is, a key person in forming relationship association. The actor (ego) who structuralizes the network is called “social enterpriser.” <BR>Compared to the network that an enterpriser makes, a personal network which an individual considers vital to himself is interpreted as a chain of personal commitment. The actor who holds such a chain of personal commitment exists as a being on to himself by objectifying other persons as well as himself in a relationship.<BR>Finally, the paper settles a group of standards regarding social network and personal network so that diversified facets of actual relationships may be studied by means of positive sciences. It recognizes that persons in a network are mutually owned in the field of relationships, and that the way relationships are formed indicates the characteristics of the form of our existing society.
