Abstract
We compared the clinical effects of psoriasis treatments with a) calcipotriol ointment alone, and b) a combination of calcipotriol ointment plus narrow-band ultraviolet B (nb-UVB) irradiation (1-2 times/week). Both treatments were effective and significantly improved PASI, self PASI, pruritus, and PDI scores. Although the combination therapy was slightly superior to that of calcipotriol ointment alone, the difference was not statistically significant. A higher nb-UVB irradiation dose would be required to improve the effectiveness of the combination therapy with calcipotriol ointment and nb-UVB.
