Anthroposcopic and anthropometric studies for adults of the Yami tribe in an island of Lan Shu (Botel Tobago) of Taiwan were carried out in 1975, and the data of 76 males and 63 females were collected. The results obtained were compared with those of TORII in 1897, who was the first investigator for the aboriginal tribe living in Botel Tobago and named them Yami, and those of KANASEKI and TS'AI in 1947. The anthroposcopic observations have been made on color, shape and form on somatologic characters of the head and face, including hair color, hair form, density of hair on the face, facial form, nasal bridge form, thickness of mucous lips, eyef old and form of ear lobe etc.. The classifications of eye fold, ear form and facial form conformed to those of TSUBAKI (1956, 1957) and WATANABE (1960), respectively, and the others were similar to those made by other investigators (MARTIN and SALLER, 1957). Head length, head breadth, bizygomatic breadth, bigonial breadth, and morphological facial height were measured. The morphological facial height was measured the distance from supraorbitale, not nasion, to gnathion, and the MARTIN'S methods were applied on the other measurements.
