Abstract

When rice husk is compressed by a plunger, the plunger pressure applied to the upper surface of the rice husk can not be transmitted to the bottom of the cylinder sufficiently, although some part of it is transmitted to the bottom.<br>In order to clear the transmission of plunger pressure to the rice husk filled in the cylinder, the vertical transformation of rice husk in a transparent cylinder was firstly observed. Then the vertical bottom and cylinder side pressures were measured, and the theoretical aspects of the amount of pressure on different parts of the rice husk in the cylinder was discussed.
