Abstract
This study presents analysis of threshing mechanism for Japanese type head feeding combine. In Part 1, rice movement in the threshing cylinder was analyzed. And in part 2 the relation between impulse and detachment was analyzed.<br>This report describes detaching process in the threshing cylinder by the method of reliability engineering. Collision rate was calculated using binomial distribution. Detaching rate was expressed by the product of the collision rate and the weight function which was deduced from threshing tooth shape, tooth speed and the detaching difficulty of rice.<br>Furthermore, Weibull distribution was applied on the distribution of grains collected under concave. The distribution of grains was evaluated using shape parameter m of Weibull distribution.<br>As the result, this analyzing method was found effective for the decision of the detaching difficulty of rice.
