Description

A fruit harvesting robot equipped with a large manipulator was manufactured for trial to harvest fruits on large trees. Automatic harvesting experiments of Summer Orange were done in an orchard. The three-dimensional location of the fruit was obtained by means of a stereo-camera using a color TV camera, and the fruit was picked by the robot hand which was composed of three rubber fingers and a pair of scissors.
