Abstract

The key to the genus and species of Neanuridae in Japan and the character of each species are explained. The important character to identify the genus are mandible, maxilla, labrum and labium though it is difficult to observe them. The character, which is easy to observe, shape and color of body, arrangement of tubercles, number of ocellus are used instead. The shape and number of seta are key character to identify species, and color pattern of body to subspecies. Nine genus, 3 subgenus, 50 species and 2 subspecies plus unpublished 6 species and 1 subspecies are explained here.
