Description

A practical chart has been developed and tested for determining easily the cetane index by specific gravity (15/4°C) and 50% distillated temperature of high speed diesel fuel.There has been observed ±0.2 max error in the cetane index, between the formula of JIS K-2204 and this diagram.<BR>As a result of present investigations into several kind bases of light fuel oils, in addition, there has been shown ±2 max error in the cetane index when compared the cetane index with the cetane number measured.<BR>In the case of commercial test it may be carefully examined when the ignition quality is replaced by the cetane index.
