Description

It may be seen changes of corrlation between blood glucose and HbA1c at the therapeutic time of type 2 diabetes patients who have iron deficiency anemia. Iron therapy improved correlation between blood glucose and HbA1c. In this reason, it was examined iron metabolisum with the relation to blood glucose and HbA1c.
(Materials and method)
It was measured serum iron, HbA1c, hemoglobin, total iron binding capacity, unsaturated iron binding capacity and ferritin on six anemic patients and 40 non anemic type 2 diabetes patients as a control group. Normal control was examinated on 240 examples of female.
(1) HbA1c has positive cor elation with hemoglobin and blood glucose (p<0.01).(2) HbA1c has negative cor elation with serum iron in anemic group (p<0.01), while no corelation was observed in other control group.(3) As for TIBC positive corelation were tightened with HbA1c (p<0.05).(4) UIBC has negative corelation with HbA1c in anemic group (p<0.01).
(5) As for the ferritin, negative tendency was noted in diabetic and anemic group.(6) HbA1c and glucose became stable by the medication of chalybeate in anemic group.
