Abstract

According to Hickman & McLean (1990) the subfamilies Gabrieloninae, Tricoliinae and Phasianellinae together comprise the "pheasant shells". Previously the only pheasant shell known from Oman was Phasianella solida ; now Tricolia variabilis and T. ios are recorded, and Gabrielona roni n. sp. is described from the "upwelling" area of Dhofar Province in southern Oman.
