抄録

A method is developed to catch phenomena by rapid transfer of successive free induction decay signals(FID) to floppy disk(FD) which is on line with FTNMR.<BR>The interface unit between computer and FD is designed, so as to have maximum transfer rate, with the conception of data area which can start to write evrywhere in the track immediately after a writestart command. The conception of sector was not used.<BR>This interface unit can trasfer 4 k words data to FD within only 0.5 s. Adding sampling time 2 s to transfer time 0.5 s, kinetic phenomena can be sampled out every 2.5 s through the FT spectrum. <BR>Using this system, the time dependent behavior of side chains of poly-γ-benzyl-L-glutamate(PBLG) and acid protons of trifluoroacetic acid during solvent induced coil to helix transition in mixed solvent system was observed.<BR>A very rapid disappearance of α-CH resonance (shorter than 1 s), a slow increase of the half height width of benzyl-CH2 resonance and slow decrease of the half height width of acid proton resonance were observed. It is concluded that the coil to helix transition rate of PBLG is very fast through the main chain but is slow through the side chain due to gradual aggregation through the carbonyl groups.
