説明

Mo(VI) forms 1:2 complex with 5-chloro-7-iodo-8-quinolinol (I). This complex is soluble in CHCl3 but insoluble in water. It was observed that the maximum complex formation and extraction were performed below pH 4.5. The CHCl3 extract showed the absorption peak at 390 nm. The maximum color development in CHCl3 phase was obtained by the use of 1.5 to 7.0 mM (I)-CHCl3 solution. The extraction needs more than 3 minutes. From these results the procedure was established as follows; To sample solution containing 0 to 60μg of Mo(VI) add 6 ml of acetate-HCl buffer solution and adjust the pH to 1.0. Dilute the solution to 25 ml with distilled water and transfer into a separatory funnel. Add 10 ml of 2.5 mM (I)-CHCl3 solution and shake for 5 minutes. Separate the CHCl3 phase and measure the absorbance at 392 nm (more suitable than 390 nm) against a reagent blank. The calibration curve was linear in the range of 0 to 6.0 ppm Mo(VI) in a CHCl3 solution and the apparent molar absorptivity was 1.09×104. The effect of 23 ions was studied and it was found that the tolerable amount of these ions was considerably high except Fe(III), Sn(II), Cu(II), V(V) and W(VI).
