Abstract
Based on the enthalpy balance for gasification process, two simple equ-ations applicable to any type of gasifier were obtained to calculate both the volume of carbon monoxide and hydrogen produced and that of necessary oxygen to be blown, as follows:<BR>Next, actual data of gasification for several types of gasifier, namely packed bed type, fluidized bed type and entrain type, were analysed by the equations, and then the effects of gross calorific value, carbon efficiency, superheating of steam and heat loss, with respect to both volumes of carbon and hydrogen and the necessary oxygen to be blown, were explained by the preceding equations.
