Description
It is well-known that a poor pulmonary function due to phrenic nerve paralysis can be improved by diaphragm plication. We encountered 5 cases of diaphragm plication, and the improvement of dyspnea was maintained in all cases, but only one case showed an improved vital capacity and forced expiratory volume 1. Improvement of flow in the flow-volume curve was recognized in all cases, and continued. Because diaphragm plication normalized the respiratory function, it was thought to improve the flow and decrease dyspnea.
