Polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins and Polychlorinated dibenzofurans (PCDDs/DFs) in dry and wet deposition were analyzed for one year in Matsuyama, Japan. Annual deposition flux of PCDDs/DFs and TEQ were 290ng/m2/year and 3.2ng/m2/year, respectively. The high deposition flux of PCDDs/DFs in dry deposition was observed in the samples collected at winter. In contrast with dry deposition, the high deposition flux of these compounds in wet deposition was observed in the samples collected at winter and summer. This phenomenon was explained that the atmospheric concentration of PCDDs/DFs was relatively high in winter and these compounds were washed-out by rainfall in summer. It is estimated that combustion processes were contributed to major source of dry and wet depositions.
