Abstract
Based on the theory of the plant factory, the author presents an optimally economized design model of a small-scale plant factory. From the viewpoint of the minimum cost vs. maximum gain, an optimized design of the factory is proposed to be possible. For the first example, room temperature as well as generated heat from the luminescent lamps are considered for evaluating the optimized thermal control system of the factory. Also the optimized heat-insulation for the house construction design is discussed. Second, for the space economy, the thinning transplantation schedule within the cultivation period is optimized. From the cost evaluation, estimation of the transplanting robot can also be determined.
