Abstract

Micro-crystals formed by the reaction in alkaline solutio-n containing K3[Fe(CN)6] and SiO44-were studied. by the transmission electron diffraction method. The results indicate the crystals formed by the reaction at ca.110°C being disordered α- and β-SiC having a size less than ca.1000Å in diameter. Reduction of SiO44- in the solution is supposed to be proceeded by the oxidation of cyanide ion or cyano radical.
