Description
It is well known that the fibronectin shows affinity to various components of biological and nonbiological substances. Thus, fibronectin which exists in salivary flow, may produce acquired pellicle, dental plaque and dental calculus. The concentration of the fibronectin in the saliva determined the rate of such deposits.
In this study, quantitative analysis of fibronectin in salival flow was examined by using plasma fibronectin assay system and ELISA.
The average of concentration of the fibronectin in human whole saliva, parotid saliva and submandibulo-sublingual saliva was 76ng/ml, 41ng/ml and 57ng/ml respectively.
