Abstract
Most leguminous plants close their leaves in the evening, and open them in the morning. Jasmonate glucoside 1 was isolated as the leaf-closing factor (LCF) of Samanea (Albizia) plants. We detected the candidate for the target protein of 1, MTJG, by using molecular probe 2. Recently, our group designed and synthesized the biaryl-linked (BArL) probe 3, which showed high performance on the labeling of MTJG compared with the Gly_3-linked probe 2. Conformational analysis of BArL probe 3a indicated that this high performance came from the rigidness of its molecular shape due to the insertion of biaryl linker system which enabled the spatial aperture of molecular tag (biotin) from the jasmonate moiety.
