Description
In the present study, it was elucidated that the seed germination rate is increased with the de-husk of endocarp approximately after 2 months stratification at 3℃, abscisic acid occurs in the endocarp, seed coat and seed with physiological levels, more over authentic abscisic acid inhibits the germination rate of de-husked seed. These results suggest that in Japanese flowering cherry, abscisic acid may act as plant growth regulator of seed germination as in the case of other herbaceous plants.
