Description
It is very important to evaluate the characteristics of materials in order to use them effectually. However, the usual database systems can't be used easily in a uniform manner, because the developed systems don't have a common format and haven't opened to the public. Therefore, in this study, the computer software which can search material data accumulated by XML document and evaluate the characteristics of materials through the Internet has been developed using the Java language. The Java is a very useful programming language which is possible to develop the application for handling the data through the Internet. The retrieval system has been developed using Servlet and XSLT. The evaluation tool is possible to express some graphs (S-N curve, Stress-Strain curve, etc.) and some parameters of the equation can be determined. The developed open system is very useful for the engineering design.
