Description

Uniconazoole (Uz) is sprayed on sugar beet seedlings for a machine-transplanting in Hokkaido. However, the growth of the seedlings is sometimes delayed by the application of Uz. We examined the effect of the trace-element fertilizer containing ALA on the growth retardation caused by Uz. Sugar beet (Beta vulgaris L. c.v. Stout and c.v. Abend) seedlings were grown in a greenhouse controlled at day/night temperature of 18-25/15-18℃. Uz was sprayed on the seedlings at the concentration of 12.5ppm or [Blank] at 25 days after seeding, and the fertilizer was sprayed on the seedlings at the dilution of 1/10,000 [10kPKV] or 1/3,000 [3 kPKV] at 15 days after Uz treatment. The growth retardations caused by Uz treatment in c.v. Stout and c.v. Abend were recovered with the treatment of the fertilizer at the dilution of 1/3,000 (ALA=1ppm) and at the dilution of 1/10,000 (ALA=0.3ppm) or 1/3,000 respectively, as compared with [Control].
