The KTP/532 laser has the advantage of flexible fibers to treat deep lesions. The wavelength is highly absorbed in the hemoglobin. These properties seem to be suitable for indications of oropharyngeal disorders. Furthermore, recent development of the diode laser enables us to apply laser surgery to the orophryngeal mucosa. The present studies revealed the clinical application of the KTP/532 and idode lasers to laser assisted uvulopalatoplasty.
