Description

We report a case of mucinous adenocarcinoma of the sublingual gland, an extremely rare malignant head and neck tumor. A case was an 83-year-old man seen for a submandibular mass gradually growing for 2 months. In clinical and radiological examinations his tumor was found strongly suspected to have originated in the sublingual gland. The tumor was excised in a cervical approach. The pathological diagnosis of the tumor was mucinous adenocarcinoma of the sublingual gland. His postoperative course has been uneventful and he remains recurrence-free in the 1 year and 10 months since surgery.
