Description
The purpose of this study is to consider the feature of interaction between patients and nurses and nursing experience in a alcoholic unit. This study analyzes qualitatively the data that are got by the participant observation in Alcoholism Rehabilitation Program that centers on the group works of a alcoholic unit in a psychiatric ward over seven months and the group interview with nurses. As for the group works, patients expressed their anger, dissatisfaction and helplessness to be stimulated their psychological social aspects of drinking problems. As the result of this, nurses had created the interaction of keeping distance from patients and "mochtitu-motaretu interaction" that is similar to co-dependence relation each other to avoid the character of attacks of patients. These interactions are influenced on that psychological walls with patients become weak because nurses sympathized with patients stories and are pressed for meeting with themselves , that self-concepts are shook by showing "the front and back" each other because nurses are with patients in 24 hours, and that the interactions are created "work of mourning" each other as congenial spirits who mourn over patients' death in succession. Nurses were overwhelmed and injured by being confronted with patients' way of living and death, Nurses need the support system, for example preparing talk meetings among nurses or other occupational persons.
