抄録

Adsorption of some organic compounds by a mesoporous material, FSM-16, was reviewed. First, the stability of FSM-16 against water vapor and water was explained. Only up to about 25% of FSM-16 broke in soaking water, in contrast, it did not break in water vapor at all. With regard to adsorption of benzene, toluene, phenol and benzoic acid, those aromatic hydrocarbons were hardly adsorbed on FSM-16. FSM-16 has a hydrophilic silanol group. On the other hand, a benzene nucleus of the aromatic hydrocarbon is hydrophobic. For those, the aromatic hydrocarbons were not much adsorbed on FSM-16. On adsorption of mono-glycine, di-glycine, tri-glycine and tetra-glycine by FSM-16, the adsorption was, in high order, tetra->tri->di->mono-glycine. An effect of the molecular sieve might appear in adsorp-tion of tetra-glycine.
