Abstract

Osteogenesis imperfecta is associated with brittleness of bones and multiple fractures and is a hereditary bone ailment often accompanied by blue sclera, auditory disorders, hypermobility of joints, dentinogenesis imperfecta, and other ailments. In Japan there are numerous reports of this in the field of orthopedics and orthodontics, but few from the field of oral surgery.<BR>Recently, we performed mandibular traumatic osteotomy of mandibular prognathism due to mandibular canine to canine fracture and osteogenesis imperfecta. We present our observations with the experience gained.
