Description
The conventional m-SHEL model is a kind of qualitative tool for safety analysis. This paper develops a new t-m-SHEL model and its analytical format. This model is obtained by iterating analyses using the m-SHEL model along a time axis from an initial event to the final one, i.e., occurrence of an accident. The safety analyses of a hair-drier are implemented by use of both the m-SHEL and t-m-SHEL models in order to compare those models. The result shows that the t-m-SHEL model can be applied not only to dynamical safety analysis but also to semi-quantitative risk analysis.
