Abstract

In order to evaluate the autonomic nervous system during virtual reality (VR) immersion, heart rate variability (HRV) was evaluated in the three healthy volunteers. HRV and arterial blood pressure with Finapress were recorded during VR with head mounted display and during watching conventional television. LF/HF ratio in the power spectrum of HRV were significantly increased during -VR with jet coaster video software, compared with conventional television. Fractal dimension of the HRV was significantly decreased during VR with jet coaster video software. These results suggest that autonomic nervous system may be significantly influenced by the VR with some kind of softwares.
