Abstract
This paper reported very localized strong wind condition on a wind-beaten bare ground situated on a low mountain peak (c. 980 m above the sea-level) in the temperate forest zone (c. 37°N) in northeastern Japan. Based on the record of wind and observation of ground-surface processes, it was discussed that the combined processes of deflation, frost action, solifluction, rainwash, and pipe flow have maintained and altered the bare ground landscape. Its response to past and future climate changes is a matter of concern.
