Abstract

Graduation research is a comprehensive activity among several design subjects composed in a four-year undergraduate course. The design subjects in a curriculum demand several abilities such as (1) collection and application of information, (2) creativity, (3) problem finding, (4) group activities and (5) presentation. These abilities can be assessed and promoted by practicing presentations. This paper deals with the way of presentation assessment in the activities of graduation research and its development through 2000, 2001 and 2002 academic years. A coalition consisting of five seminar groups began to develop the presentation assessment. This assessment was then extended to the whole engineering departments in Tokushima University. It was clarified that the presentation assessment in activities of graduation work is an effective method to promote presentation ability and self-studying skill of the students.
