Attainment of a high productive efficiency through the modernization of production control is an important matter and shipbuilding companics are actively introducing the use of computers. The authors have established a structure of production management system in their hull steelworks. This paper describes a study on an example of optimization method of a production planning in a real shipyard and outlines a computer program MASS that produces master schedule.
