Abstract

This paper proposes a novel design method for discrete-time preview feedforward compensation via linear matrix inequality (LMI). While an LMI design condition for preview control in the previous research yields both feedback gain and preview feedforward compensation simultaneously, the proposed approach can derive feedforward compensation solely after feedback gain is designed in some way. Since the preview feedforward gain is described as a decision variable in LMI design conditions without any change of variables, the conditions can be less conservative. Numerical examples are provided to show effectiveness of the proposed method.
