Abstract

We succeed in preparing the ZnS:Er^<3+> films that show a "red" electroluminescence which has not been reported so far using the deposition equipment developed by us. Although the wavelength values of the emitted light of this ZnS:Er^<3+> film are the same as those of the usual ZnS:Er^<3+> films, the emission intensity of the long wavelength line is stronger than that of the short wavelength line, being opposite to the usual ZnS:Er^<3+> film whose emission color is green.
