Abstract
This paper evaluates the usability of the intuitive interface which can assign various operations by estimating camera motion on a mobile phone. Since many keys are generally mounted in a mobile phone, a complicated function can be assigned adequately, but it is hard to say that it superior to in usability. Moreover, since the mobile phone cannot recognize that multiple keys were pressed simultaneously, it has the problem that the keypad cannot respond to multiple operations at once. In this paper, in order to evaluate the efficiency of the camera based intuitive interface, we implemented 3D map application which can operate a viewpoint and eye direction on the mobile phone. Multiple subjects measured the time which moves 3D map, and performed subjective evaluations, such as usability of camera based intuitive interface. The experiment showed that operation by the intuitive interface was significantly superior to operation by the keypad.
