Abstract

To get non-linear characteristics of an amplifier in digital terrestrial television broadcasting system, sole spectrum measurement is not sufficient. It is necessary to compare input and output signal of it. In this paper, a method to measure non-linear characteristics, assumed to be following the AM-AM / AM-PM conversion model, with only output signal is introduced. In the method, undistorted (input) signal to be compared with the captured signal is estimated with the conventional demodulating process. The characteristics of two amplifiers are actually measured and compared with the results of another method.
