Description
Full-duplex, 156Mbit/s, 60GHz-band millimeter-wave fiber-radio signal transmission over 25km-long SMF is experimentally demonstrated for the fist time by using single 2-RF-port EAT (Electroabsorption Transceiver). Optical pilot tone and bandpass filters are used for the photonic downconversion and photonic upconversion, converting frequencies between millimeter-wave signal and intermediate frequency (IF) signal. These signals have no significant chromatic dispersion effect. The approach to single-EAT-BS will become a powerful candidate for fiber-radio access system.
