Abstract

Three theoretical models were analyzed by the maximum likelihood to fit non-broken filament length data. We obtained a good fit to the data by a model of a mixture of gamma, exponential and normal distributions. Akaike's information criterion showed that the model gave a good fit to the data. This model was considered to be suitable for studies on the evenness of raw silk since three types of dropping ends were represented.
