Description
To improve the fusion ability of the protoplasts, from the mulberry varieties ‘Ichinose’ and ‘Kenmochi’ in polyethylene glycol, the changes in the temperature, pH and Ca ion concentration of the solutions used for the protoplast fusion were studied, and the following results were obtained. At the high temperature of 40°C, the fusion ability improved. Furthermore, it was shown that when 75mM of calcium chloride was added to the solution adjusted to pH 6.5, the fusion ability increased.
