Description

Due to difficulties of real-time captioning, not all TV programs can be captioned. However, it becomes so common to watch recorded programs, and this time-shifting gives a chance to TV stations to supply captions for their uncaptioned broadcasts. The authors implemented a HDD recorder which can play recorded programs with captions downloaded from a TV station. Our experimental implementation shows that the proposed recorder is easily realized as a little improvement of an ordinary recorder, and it requires no major modifications to a current broadcasting system.
