Abstract
We have been developing hundreds of Mbps transmission technologies using Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) in 42-GHz band for SHV (Super Hi-Vision) transmission. In this report, we consider an application of cross-polarization to 4×4MIMO multiplexing for the purpose of downsizing the transmit device and improving the transmit performance. Computer simulations under a 4×4MIMO channel which correlation is more than 0.8 that a BER performance is improved by using cross-polarization and we have found a suitable cross polarization power ratio (XPR) to maximize the effectiveness of the improvement.
