In Bombyx mori, the female-specific protein of larval hemolymph (FL-1) is controlled codominantly by Pfl allelic genes which are located on the twenty-third chromosome. A three-point experiment of the type BphB tub PflF_??_×BphC+PflS/BphB tub PflF_??_ was carried out to determine the map position of the Pfl gene. The locus of Bph (Blood acid phosphatase) gene is at 19.2 map units and that of tub (tubby) at 19.8 map units on the genetic map of the twenty-third linkage group. The recombination value between Bph and tub was calculated to be 6.39%, between tub and Pfl 1.68% and between Bph and Pfl 8.07%, respectively, through the observation of 829 female larvae. It was concluded that the arrangement of these three gene loci on the chromosome was in the order of Bph-tub-Pfl, and the Pfl gens was localized at 21.5 map units on the twenty-third linkage group.
