Education programs in management of technology which existed since 1900s has expanded worldwide. Specifically, many MOT courses were developed in United States of America during 1970s and 1980s based on the recognition that decline of global competitiveness was due to engineering management problem. Japan, on the other hand, variety of MOT programs were established in 2000s in order to cope with economic stagnation started in 1990s. As a result, around 100 MOT courses including degree programs and non-degree programs existed in 2005. This paper reviews past trend of MOT education and describes a case of entrepreneur engineering course which was established in 1999.
