Silkworm acidic ribosomal proteins P0, P1 and P2 (P proteins) were fused with His-tag at the C-terminal end. Each protein was expressed in BmN4 cells individually. The expressed P0, P1 and P2 proteins were detected by immunoblotting analysis of the cell extract with anti-His tag antibody. The ribosomes were isolated by ultracentrifugation and tested for reactivity with anti-His tag as well as anti-P antibodies. All the His tag fused proteins P0, P1 and P2 were detected in the ribosome fractions. These proteins appear to be incorporated into the 60 S ribosomal subunit, as detected by sedimentation analysis. These results suggested that the His tagged ribosomal proteins were assembled in vivo into the ribosome.<br>
