Abstract

A computer controlled data acquiring system was developed to collect information for filature factories. This system is composed of two parts, the data collection of water temperatures in addition to the pH values of the cocoon cooking machine, and the data count of the feeding end and the reel stop on the autmatic reeling machine. This system can also indicate to the operator the irregular operation of each reeling machine that is individually set with a flashing light and buzzer. In consideration for the feasibility of maintenance and software productivity, the data processing program was written in BASIC. The problem of mechanical and electric noise in the factory which causes data transfer errors was investigated, and the trouble shooting circuit was applied to this system. After investigating the fundamental functions, it was confirmed that a real time data collection system for monitoring filature factory operations could be constructed using a computer and I/O devices.
